We would like ANet United to grow into a greater site and that is why we want to talk directly to you, the member. What do you want to see more of on the site and what are things that you do not like? We need all the feedback we can get. All you need to do is to leave a comment on this post and the administrators including me will look them over. We really appreciate your help and feedback to make ANet United stronger than ever. ANet United runs for one reason and that is the public. We do not make any money nor do we like to. What keeps the site running is the yearning to learn more about Cardiology and that it is all we are about.

Researches To Develop Method to Treat HF

Saturday, July 28th, 2007

“The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) has awarded researchers at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine a three-year, $500,000 grant to develop a novel intervention strategy for simultaneously treating congestive heart failure and major depression. The study is designed to obtain the necessary feasibility and clinical data required to plan a large-scale trial, which will compare the impact of a “blended” depression/heart failure care management programs vs. traditional heart failure care management program on cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, health-related quality of life, mood symptoms, health care costs and a variety of other outcomes of interest.”

Diabetes Drugs Increase Risk of Heart Failure

Monday, July 16th, 2007

“Both Avandia and Actos double the risk of heart failure,” concluded the lead author of the first study, Dr. Sonal Singh, an assistant professor of internal medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. “We know these drugs increase the risk, but we found the risk is more substantial than suspected. This occurs at even the lowest dose and among young patients.”There you have it. Make sure that if you are taking these medications to confirm with your doctor if you are not at risk.

Many people have actually suffered from heart attacks because of this drug and experts are saying that it also increases the risk of cardiac problems by 42%.
